Institutional Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to applicants annually.  Most scholarships are used to recruit students from local high schools but are also available to returning students.  The three institutional scholarships awarded by the college are the Presidential Academic Scholarship, the Academic Excellence Scholarship, or the Dual Enrollment Scholarship.  Scholarships will be awarded annually and placed on student accounts beginning the fall semester. The priority deadline is MARCH 15TH of each year.

**Institutional scholarships are non-refundable and do not cover books, supplies, or program/departmental fees. Scholarships will not pay for repeat or out of degree plan courses.

      The Presidential Academic Scholarship is for first time freshmen:

  • Award: Full tuition and mandatory fees
  • Eligibility: High school applicants must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Coverage: Scholarship will pay up to 15 hours for fall and spring semesters and 12 hours for summer semester.

The Academic Excellence Scholarship is for current or transfer students:

  • Award: $4,000 ($2,000 for fall, $2,000 for spring)
  • Eligibility: College applicants must have a college grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

The Dual Enrollment Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors enrolled in the Drake State Dual Enrollment Program transitioning to First Time Freshmen

  • Award: $3,000 ($1500 for fall, $1500 for spring)
  • Eligibility: Applicants must have a college grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
