Academic Advising and Tutorial Services

Academic advising is an important component of student services. Academic advisement is completed using a split-intake model that includes both student services personnel and faculty advisors.

The College employs a full-time Student Success Specialist to assist students in identifying and progressing through educational opportunities aligned with their individual aptitudes, knowledge, skills, interests, and goals. The student success program includes optional individual and group counseling sessions offered on an as-needed basis to support academic, personal, and career development. Services available to students include study skills assistance, time management strategies, drug and alcohol awareness education, academic advising, and career planning resources. The program is designed to ensure students have sufficient support and guidance to successfully progress through their instructional programs. Students are referred to appropriate agencies and resources based on individual needs.
